A gorgeous, high quality, giclee printed onto canvas. An old friend of the shop, we adore his quirky, illustrative style. 10 x 30 inches.

About the artist: David Gildersleeve began his long and illustrious (but mostly just long) art career while growing up in the great State of Texas. Comic books sparked an interest in art and became his earliest teachers - Batman being a favorite. Later he bounced around from art schools to regular colleges and back again - eventually earning an MFA degree, which led to a teaching position at The Savannah College of Art and Design in the Sequential Art department. (That's right folks… he teaches the art of telling a story through comic books).
While David remains committed to the world of comics (he is currently working on self publishing his own series), he also enjoys painting. He paints subjects that invade his subconscious, using a wonky style to help bring these images to life. Using textures and a selective palette, David creates a definite mood in his work that most people refer to as whimsical.
David has been published in several magazines including: The Mac Monitor, Comic's Pro Magazine, The Crescent Review and Playboy. He has shown at The Reston Art League, Reston, Virginia, The Undertaking Gallery, Occoquan, Virginia and at The Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Georgia.
David specializes in western art, humorous art, illustrations, cartoons, children's stories, and cartoon strips. He uses a wide array of media including acrylics, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink and others to create original art and prints.
